Just by being in the radio business I have had the great opportunity to meet some of the music idols I grew up with and hopefully I’ll have an opportunity to shake hands with Bruce Springsteen who’ll be performing here next month.   If you’ll be in the audience, I can tell you that he’ll play several roles in his concert including hero, leader, preacher and even a rebel if you will.  He writes and sings about his roots and about family and friends he saw struggling to eke out a living.  Bruce Springsteen’s music will really get into your heart and soul.  It’s all about the Glory Days….tickets still on sale through Ticketmaster dot com or at the Bi-Lo Center box office…see you there….Lee

I hope you had a good weekend as we head into the last week of August.  After working an air shift on Saturday, I went to see a really good movie called The Time Travelers Wife.  It’s one that I think you would enjoy since there is not that much to choose from at the box office now.  The movie is about a librarian who can involuntarily time travel and the complications it creates for his marriage.  A different kind of plot.  Be sure to tune in the Totally 80’s LunchHour today for an opportunity to win a gift card from American Pie Factory…talk with later…Lee

I talked about good ways to remember people’s names on my show this week and I just wanted to share a few tips on how to do this.   Repeat their name ,   try to rhyme their name with something,  write it down, associate it with a character or person in your life and you can always Facebook this person as fast as you can….In the business that I’m in it is so important to remember people that you meet and maybe this association will also be of help to you…thanks  for listening…talk with you later…Lee

I am so blessed to have two wonderful friends in Monnie Whitson and Dixie Traynham and on Thursday night we had such a good time eating pizza and having a good laugh or two.  It’s amazing how  that will make you feel.  Make sure you tune into Monnie’s morning show here on Magic…she and Chris have such fun and it really comes across that way over the radio…great way to begin your day at 6 am…and Dixie thanks so much for the decorative candle…you are the best.  If  you have some close friends, make some quality time together.  You’ll be amazed at how you live and appreciate  each day you are given in this life….talk with you later…Lee

If you have the time and could give a few groceries to the Salvation Army…it would really help them.  The food pantry is running low this summer due to the high demand for food caused by a higher number of unemployed people in the area.  They need some non-perishable food items….just turn into the main driveway on Rutherford St. next to WYFF..and drive down to the big open door…thanks for caring and for listening to Magic 98.9…talk with you later…Lee

I have only bought one lottery ticket in my life and it was a $5 scratch off ticket but how about this….a 69 year old man says he lost  a $500,000 scratch off Lotto ticket when he was on his way to collect his winnings.  He thinks someone may have picked his pocket when he stopped  at a gas station.  Anyway, he does have a confirmation ticket from the liquor store where he bought the ticket but he needs the original to collect.  oooops….Now thats enough to give you ulcers for a long time….talk with you later..Lee
