So my Dad has been going through boxes and boxes of stuff, finding pictures from soooooo long ago.  It’s been fun.  Looking back, the journey from there to today.  What a blast.  Here is my twin sister Stefanie and I.  I believe it was 1978/79, we were two or three years old.  (What was my mother thinking painting the walls that color?)

I had to crop this picture b/c my sister was running around without her underwear on.  Why do parents love to take pictures when their kids aren’t wearing underwear?  Anyway, good thing for cropping!

Twist of a switch and viola!

Guess it wasn’t my turn to twist the switch.

Look at Stefanie, all proud of beating her sister down.  And no one is doing anything… just capturing every second!

So some guy believes he saw the Loch Ness Monster while browsing Google Earth.  That is hilarious to me.  The UK man says the shape seen in the lock is 65 feet long and appears to have an oval body, a tail and four legs or flippers.  (I think the guy’s been on Gooogle Earth too long and the screen is starting to mess with his mind.)

If you want to see the image for yourself, log into Google Earth and type in the co-ordinates – Latitude 57?12′52.13″N – Longitude 4?34′14.16″W

If the co-ordinates don’t work, I’m apologize.  I myself haven’t been on Google Earth so not quite sure how it works.  Email me if you see something!  sbartro@entercom.com

In the wake of three child deaths and the near strangulation of seven other children, federal authorities and several businesses announced Wednesday that nearly 5.5 million hazardous window shades and blinds are being recalled immediately.

The window coverings include Roman shades, roll-up blinds, cellular shades and traditional blinds that provide young children with relatively easy access to exposed cords and loops that could strangle them.

The businesses participating in the recall are Pottery Barn Kids, IKEA, Vertical Land Inc., Lewis Hyman Inc., Lutron Electronics Co. Inc. and Victoria Classics. Victoria Classics’ Roman shades and many of Lewis Hyman’s window shades were sold exclusively at Target stores.

Another Wet-Nose Wednesday here at Magic!  Jackie, a stray came in to visit today.  WATCH VIDEO OF JACKIE ABOVE.  She was picked up as a stray.  A Daschund mix… can’t figure this girl out.  She’s got the smoothest softest skin around her face, but her tail and the rest of her body, you definitely know she is Daschund.  She is $79.50 from the Greenville Humane Society, already spayed and up to date on her shots.  She is about 3 years old, crate trained and about 95% house broken.

She’s big for a Daschund mix, but still loves to sit on your lap.  And, she doesn’t shed.  You’ll see in the video above, I tried to pull some of that shrot hair out… nothing!  If you just fell in love with Jackie and want to take her home, call the Greenville Humane Society at 242-3626 or click here to visit their website.

Just by being in the radio business I have had the great opportunity to meet some of the music idols I grew up with and hopefully I’ll have an opportunity to shake hands with Bruce Springsteen who’ll be performing here next month.   If you’ll be in the audience, I can tell you that he’ll play several roles in his concert including hero, leader, preacher and even a rebel if you will.  He writes and sings about his roots and about family and friends he saw struggling to eke out a living.  Bruce Springsteen’s music will really get into your heart and soul.  It’s all about the Glory Days….tickets still on sale through Ticketmaster dot com or at the Bi-Lo Center box office…see you there….Lee

My Dad has thousands upon thousands of pictures that he is beginning to sift through after a few years.  He moved down from Maryland in 2006… (OMGoodness, what a mess.  I helped him move.  Finding good memories during that time may take a couple more years :)  )    Well, all his pictures have been boxed up and he’s just now getting in to take a look and try and organize… but that might be too big a project.

Well, he dug up some of these.  I am a graduate of Bob Jones University.  To help with paying off my student loans, I made about $3.17 working in the BJU Dining Common kitchen… in clean-up.  Not the most pleasant job, but my boyfriend worked in the Dining Common kitchen!!!  That boyfriend is now my husband, and we still do dishes together :) LOL!!!!!

Here I am at 20/21 years old.  1996/1997

I guess the girl next to me didn’t think it was that funny.

I hope you had a good weekend as we head into the last week of August.  After working an air shift on Saturday, I went to see a really good movie called The Time Travelers Wife.  It’s one that I think you would enjoy since there is not that much to choose from at the box office now.  The movie is about a librarian who can involuntarily time travel and the complications it creates for his marriage.  A different kind of plot.  Be sure to tune in the Totally 80’s LunchHour today for an opportunity to win a gift card from American Pie Factory…talk with later…Lee

Gabby!

Posted in: Uncategorized

Check out this cutie batootie!

dscf1425

Talk about a blonde bombshell!  Gabby is your girl!  She’s great.  So energetic.  We were playing ball with her inside the building, and she doesn’t just run to get the ball, she deoes this kind a elegant wild prance.  It’s actually quite comical to watch.  She’s about a year old and is at the Greenville Human Society b/c the other pets in the house she was living at weren’t too fond of her.  They had to have been jealous of her zest for life.  Gabby was an indoor dog and is HOUSE TRAINED!!!  You gotta love that.

She’s a good girl.  Could use some more time with learning commands, but she does sit! (as you can see… of course she is going to sit for Nan… she’s getting treats for obeying!)  And I know the summer is practically over, but if you have a lakehouse or take the boat out quite a bit, Gabby will be a lot of fun to have with you!

Who can resist this beaty!  She is $79.50 from the Greenville Humane Society.  She’s spayed and has great teeth.  She did live with children in her previous home.  No problem with the children, the other pets didn’t get along with Gabby.  You want to get to know her more, call the Greenville Humane Society at 864-242-3626.

I talked about good ways to remember people’s names on my show this week and I just wanted to share a few tips on how to do this.   Repeat their name ,   try to rhyme their name with something,  write it down, associate it with a character or person in your life and you can always Facebook this person as fast as you can….In the business that I’m in it is so important to remember people that you meet and maybe this association will also be of help to you…thanks  for listening…talk with you later…Lee
