Not since 9/11 has a tragedy affected me like what we are seeing from the earthquake in Haiti….the American Red Cross still needs your dollars to continue assisting the victims of the disaster. Visit www.redcross.org to find out more information on how you can help….Also the Salvation Army is lending its support as well…their web address is www.salvationarmyusa.org …its going to take a long time to put things back in some kind of order…please keep these people in your prayers…thanks..Lee
Even though I worked this past weekend…I still had time to enjoy the company of friends celebrating the birthday of Roberta….not just on Friday night but a pizza party on Saturday night…then of course, I enjoyed the playoff games on Sunday. Hope you and your family had a good one too…be sure to listen all week on the Totally’s 80’s Lunch from Noon til one for an opportunity to win sneak peak movie tickets for Shutter Island beginning in February…..Lee
Tonight on most network and cable t.v. networks…there will be a telethon called Hope for Haiti Now and will feature some great performers like Cold Play, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Stevie Wonder and many others. I do hope you will tune in a make a contribution to help the thousands of people that have been affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti…you can also purchase the performances thru I-Tunes tomorrow(Saturday) with all the proceeds going to the relife effort…thanks….Lee
Back home now I know you’re prob’ly sleeping,
Over here it’s the middle of the day.
I finally found some time to write a letter,
Sittin’ here a half a world away.
I heard about all them folks protesting,
As if I really want this war.
But that don’t stop me from believing
There’s just some things worth fighting for.
And if I die before you wake,
I pray the world will take
A good look at what God’s given us.
If we could only understand
Everything is in His hands.
All we need is a little faith and trust.
I want you to know it ain’t too high a price to pay
If I die before you wake.
Tell everybody that I miss them,
and I can’t wait to get back home.
Until then, I’ll serve my country
and be proud to wear this uniform.
And if I die before you wake,
I pray the world will take
A good look at what God’s given us.
If we could only understand
Everything is in His hands.
All we need is a little faith and trust.
I want you to know it ain’t too high a price to pay
If I die before you wake.
No, it ain’t too high a price to pay
If I die before you wake.

I have no words to truly express my deepest sympathies,
utmost respect, and gratitude to the families and loved ones of those who
have made the ultimate sacrifice to guarantee the future of freedom.
I pray we will always remember at what cost we enjoy our freedom
and when these brave men and women return home to us they
will be greeted by open arms and loud cheers from a grateful people.
May God bless us all – each and every one.

I have been heartbroken about the devastation and loss of life in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. So many organizations , including the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army, are putting together massive aid packages to send to Haiti….You can help just by sending in a donation of money, so all of the supplies needed can be purchased. For more information, just go to redcross.org or salvationarmyusa.org ….thank you for caring for the suffering people in Haiti….it will be a very long process to get back to some sense of normalcy….Lee
I was pleasantly surprised to see where Taylor Swift, who I play often on Magic, is now the top selling digital artist in music history with sales of over 24 million digital tracks to date. If anyone deserves such an honor, it is Taylor. She is just as popular with pop music fans as she is with her following of loyal country fans.. With her career this popular at such an early age it stands to reason that it will get only better with time….way to go Taylor…
Hope you made it through the weekend without too many problems because of the very cold temperatures. The good news is that by Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll be in the 50’s , which will seem like a heat wave. My weekend was too short because of work…but I’m so happy to be a part of the best radio station in the state. Join me for a good day at the workplace and don’t forget to call in and request an 80’s song on the Totally 80’s show at Noon……Lee
I was thinking on this cold weekend just how blessed I am to have a good job to enjoy each day, for a warm home to live in and for my wonderful listeners who tune in the show on Magic….and one of my new year’s resolutions is to be more thankful for what life has given me and to help those who need a support system and friends to care about them…Lee
At least for those of us in the upstate, we dodged a bullet and missed out on all that snow that areas to the north experienced last night and today…that of course suits me fine. No worry today about icy roads and getting to work on time. But there is still lots of stuff to deal with in the coming weeks..have a good weekend…..Lee
Monnie likes to kid me because I don’t like snow…well I did when I was a kid but when I got into radio…that all changed. I was always required to be at work behind the mike no matter how much snow we had. So it was an unpleasant task getting to work…but thank goodness for my current program director, Chase Murphy, he says no need to sweat it…if I can’t get here, the snow mobile would come by and pick me up…thats so goooood….looks like this system won’t be too bad…hope Kendra is right….Lee
