If you and your family have some plans for the long 4th of July holiday..you’ll get a little break at the gas pump.  Gas prices have fallen an average of 11 cents in the past 2 weeks.  I did see gas for just over $3.20 this morning coming to work which is encouraging.  In South Carolina, we do have some of the lowest prices in the country.  One reason for the decline in prices is the government’s decision to release more crude oil from the strategic reserves.  So enjoy your upcoming vacation and be sure to take Magic 98.9 along with you…talk with you again soon.

Wow…here is an interesting story you may like if you don’t want to have gray hair.  Scientists say they have identified the protein that causes gray hair and that a certain protein called “wnt” could be added to hair grooming products or supplements which would do away with the process of using dye…don’t know a time line on that one though….talk with you later…Lee

If you’re like me, you probably have trouble keeping up with all of the passwords needed to access everything from Facebook to your IPhone.  I was reading an article about passwords that people use most often ..so in short stay away from passwords like 1234, 0000,1111,5555, 1212 and 1998.  It makes it easier for hackers to make life very difficult for you…its worth the effort to come up with unique passwords and keep them in a secure place…talk with you again soon…Lee

I have been so interested in the story about the Connecticut woman who was mauled by her friend’s pet chimpanzee in 2009…well she has now received a full face transplant.   The surgery is only the third of its kind in the country.  Charla Nash lost her hands, lips, nose and eyes in the incident but her hands had to be removed because they were not thriving after complications from pneumonia.  Doctors were optimistic another hand transplant could be attempted in the future.  Just think how far we have come with medical technology these days especially in the U.S.  I wish the best in her recovery…talk with you later…Lee

Loved The Voice last night on NBC.  Christina was getting a little bit obnoxious, Adam said a swear word that didn’t get “dumped”  Blake was true to his form, a gentleman,  and CeLo FINALLY took his sunglasses off!  He has very nice eyes in my opinion.

Well, if you’ve forgotten the numbers, I have them for you.  My favorites were Jarrod, Beverly (obvious she was going to do Melissa Ethridge, but changing up the notes she did, I thought she just did great!,) Dea, Xenia and Patrick.  I know, almost all of them.  The really really did a great job.

Remember you can vote up until 10:00am Monday 6/13/11.

This is really unusual that I wanted to share it with you..here goes…according to a new study, denying yourself that last piece of chocolate cake or walking past an expensive new sweater may make us feel more worthy, but resisting the things we love is bad for us.    A look at women found that those who gave in to temptation on a regular basis were much happier than those who restrained themselves.   Self regulation makes people more inclined to feel dissatisfied….proving the old adage that a little of what you like really does do you good…Now , I don’t feel so guilty of  having those few remaining brownies in my cookie jar…I’ll just have to walk an extra mile on my treadmill…take care…Lee
