My husband and I celebrated his birthday this past Sunday, 7/11. Before over indulging at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (YUM, the best creamed spinach I have ever had in my life!) we stopped by my sister’s place beacuse she had a little present for him. Along with his favorite candy (Skittles, in which I have already eaten half the bag) she gave him this card….

She and her husband have two Dachshunds and my husband plays video games. Too cute!

My husband and I switched cars today. He has a business dinner tonight with some out-of-towners so he is chauffering.

I laughed when I got in his truck this morning. I found this on the floor.

Please excuse the mess. I know Burger King is giving away thousands of dollars plus some other pretty cool prizes by joing “forces” with the Twilight Saga, specifically Eclipse. Okay, so he ate at Burger King. But then I OPENED the booklet….

HAHAHAHA! He’s got Edward! He’s collecting the pieces to win the cash! Or the Vespa. Or whatever else they have. Hysterical. I just didn’t think he would do that. He’s probably secretly reading the Twilight Series and I don’t even know it! Too cute. I’m smiling right now.

3000 vets on motorcycles from across the USA paraded in D.C. the Sunday
before Memorial Day, while a solitary, saluting Marine greeted them out on
Constitution Avenue… the Marine stood at salute for 3 straight hours, while
the parade of roaring bikes kept on coming…. it is held in remembrance
of those who’ve fallen in the military…. the event (or the group) is
called Rolling Thunder… George Bush used to meet these bikers before they
paraded… the camera is on the Marine a lot… watch his struggles with his
emotions, and his struggles with holding that salute… the way he salutes is
very touching… his head lowered, his eyes down, in reverence for the
fallen… I am an ex-Marine sergeant, and I know what he was feeling… and as
I watched him, I could feel it too…. it got to be overwhelming for
him… and the tears started flowing… watch what he says when he finally
breaks, but keeps right on holding that salute…

Got an email from my Dad today…..

Raspberries and Blackberries and Blueberries and Honey are now in.

He’s open Tues. Thurs. and Sat.

He will be open Mon. – Sat. starting approx. July 1st.

Raspberries will last until the end of this month ONLY.

Blackberries will go until Aug.

He has Southern Raspberries (bright red; firmer)

and Northern Raspberries (maroon red; softer, like in Supermarkets)

You can pick these blackberries and raspberries in Lyman. You can find the berry patch next to Carolina Fresh Farms.

I received an email today from Kato Keller who works on our sister station, B 93.7. right now is a collection going on to help Upstate Soldier who will be stationed in Afghanistan. If you can help, please help.

Julie’s Jewel’s and Gifts on Haywood Rd. and Shane’s on Augusta are teaming up to collect items for 37 Updates soldiers going to Afghanistan.. If you have any of the following items, you can drop them off at either location. They will be sending items monthly and the first shipment is July 10th..

Boy oh boy, have we got some hot temperatures.

Around 10:00am this morning, I went to the store and while walking in I heard a dog barking from the back of an SUV. Broke my heart. At 10am this morning it was already close to 80 degrees and the back windows were only open about 2 inches on either side.

Year after year we hear on the news how QUICKLY the inside of a vehicle heats up, even if the windows are slightly open. Please, even if you are just running in for a quick something or other to pick up, please do not leave children or pets in the car. Don’t bother to bring your pets on the quick drive… it’s not worth it.

While I was in the store, on the overhead intercom, I heard mulptiple times requesting that the owner of that vehicle come to customer service. Thank you Wal-mart.
