Since the weather is beginning to look and feel more like spring, I thought this would be a good time to take a few days off and enjoy doing some activities outside of the radio station….so I’ll be back at work on the 15th of March.  Bo will be here to do my show and of course the Totally 80’s Lunch.  I do look forward to visiting with my sister who lives in Atlanta….It’ll be a quick trip but will be really good to see her and some family members.  We are gearing up for the spring time full of fun things to do on Magic so  take care and will talk with you a little later on.

After enduring a cold and snowy winter…it finally looks like we are in for a fantastic weekend with temperatures climbing into the 60’s…so find an excuse to get out and do  something fun…like the Home and Garden Show at the Carolina First Center or maybe the Clemson-South Carolina baseball game at Fluor Field on Saturday.  I’m taking a few days off next week before we get started with all of the fun things lined up this spring on Magic….have a good weekend and will talk with you later…Lee

Once in a while , I get on my soapbox and today is one ….I saw some shocking pictures on the 11 o’clock news last night about a fight  that took place at the conclusion of a basketball game between Southside High and Abbeville High.  After the game ended, some punches were thrown and then fans began coming out of the stands  and getting in on the mayhem.   There were no injuries but I am amazed that deputies did not make any arrests.   Everyone involved with such an incident should have been taken to jail including players.  I’m sure you have noticed how civility is on the decline in this country and we need to make sure that incidents such as this one last night does not go without punishment. Officials at both schools have alot of mending to do and the state High School League should take immediate action to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.     Lee

On our web site www.magic989online.com …..we have put up a tribute page to Bo Griffin, who worked as a morning host here on Magic in 05 and 06.  Please take a moment and go to the page and leave your own tribute to Bo.  She was getting ready to move to Los Angeles to do work on tv and the show Extra when she became ill and died this past Tuesday night.  She will be missed and we would love for you to share memories with our listeners…..Lee

I had the priviledge of working with one of the true pros in the broadcast business.   Bo  Griffin was the morning show host here on Magic back in 2005.  She was so witty and funny and loved her listeners.  She contributed so much to Entercom while she was here.  Bo died this past Tuesday after a brief illness.  In addition to owning her own dress shop in Greenville for many years , she continued her broadcast interests after leaving Magic and was recently planning a trip to Los Angeles to do reports on the show Extra.  My sympathy to her family and friends.  She’ll really be missed and I’ll always have fond memories 0f  our time together here on Magic 98.9..Lee

If you are single and looking for some fun activities to do with a group of singles, my church , First Presbyterian of Greenville, has begun a dynamic Singles Ministry….its called CSI:Greenville and it stands for christian singles interacting.   Our kickoff banquet is this Sunday, Feb. 21st beginning at 12:20 in the Fellowship Hall with guest speaker Dr. Roger Rhoades with such a great topic….ARE  YOU STUCK?…If so, are you willing to move out of the box.  The luncheon is just $7 and if you can come enjoy this time with singles like us…  We have planned so many activities such as movies, eating out at various restaturants, dancing, games, hiking, sporting events, music events, special events just to name a few.  If you’re looking for small or large  fellowship opportunities..CSI could be just what you’re looking for….Give it a try…Lee
